We are seeking a Front Office Medical Biller to become a part of our Mental Health Practice team! You will accommodate patrons, as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.

Responsibilities:

·          Oversee front office and back office functions, activities and personnel including phone answering, screening, and scheduling of new clients and intakes

·          Process co-pays, coinsurance and interpret deductibles for various patient insurances

·          Help patients understand their insurance plan coverage as it applies to payments due at the appointment time

·          Process Billing using ICD-10 codes, modifiers and CPT codes to properly submit claims (Our system automatically pre-formats billing data for editing and submission after the clinician closes the encounter)

·          Post Patient and Insurance Payments, handle any appeal denials and rejections

·          Perform bookkeeping and reconciliation

·          Plan and coordinate staff health services and scheduling

·          Work collaboratively with mental health staff to implement existing and newly developed mental healthcare services

·          Maintain a clean environment to ensure patient safety

·          Establish, review and enforce office, healthcare and occupational policies

·          Additional responsibilities as defined by clinician

·          Respond to guest needs, requests, and complaints

Qualifications:

·          Strong previous experience in mental health, healthcare or other medical fields

·          Substantial experience in posting claims, payments, and dealing with denials on claims

·          Experience with Electronic Medical Records / Practice Management (EMS/PM) Software

·          Proven, document-able experience in a managerial role in a medical or mental health field

·          Formal training and experience in medical billing preferred.

·          Strong leadership qualities

·          Excellent people skills and a demonstrable diplomacy in dealing with patient issues while maintaining practice policies

·          Strong organizational skills, even in a busy mental health office environment

·          Excellent written and verbal communications skills with consistently proper diction

·          Solid computer skills using Excel, Word, Powerpoint and email clients as well as experience with online health insurance portals and clearinghouses (e.g. Office Ally)

·          Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·          Strong organizational skills

·          Ability to build rapport with guests

·          Previous experience in customer service, front desk service, or other related fields

 

* Candidate will be Part Time and required to work some evenings and Saturday hours.
